Wajik Ingredients:

  • 500 grams white sticky rice, wash and soak for 2 hours
  • 250 grams of brown sugar
  • 50 grams sugar
  • 3 pandan leaves
  • 250 ml thick coconut milk
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 100 ml water


How to make Wajik:


Wajik Sticky Brown Sugar Recipe

  1. First, prepare a steaming pot/cork. Steam the sticky rice for 15 minutes. Turn off the fire.
  2. Then, in a pan, boil the coconut milk with brown sugar, granulated sugar, pandan leaves, salt, and water. Stir well and let it boil.
  3. Next, put the steamed sticky rice into the coconut milk stew. Stir well and cook until the coconut milk is used up and the texture of the sticky rice looks oily or shiny.
  4. After that, transfer the sticky rice into a pan or container. Then compact, trim, and let the Wajik cool to room temperature. 
  5. Next, cut the Wajik and serve.
